Bitget is a leading cryptocurrency exchange and web 3 company. The second year of Anti-Scum Month has officially begun. This is a global initiative to spread security awareness in cryptographic areas.
It’s a world where fraud is as sophisticated as technology is to prevent them. Therefore, Bitget takes a cultural stand. Security is more than just a backend function. It’s a platform and the way people share.
Regarding the rapid rise in crypto frauds
Blockchain and Web3 have evolved rapidly, but so are threats. From phishing links that disguise gifts to malicious smart contracts hidden behind social media hype, scams are becoming more and more creative. Furthermore, there is little detection. In 2024 alone, cryptocurrency-related fraud lost more than $9.9 billion. Reports say this is the first annual growth of 24% since 2020.
Despite Bitcoin’s highest ever high and accelerating crypto adoption, the dark corner of the crypto industry remains dangerous for those unprepared. AI-generated deceptions and advanced social engineering tactics have driven this surge in crypto fraud. This demonstrates the increasing security awareness and the urgent need for more aggressive defense across the crypto ecosystem.
Bitget Anti-Scam Month
Since 2024, Bitget has been marked as an anti-Scam month every June. The goal is to raise security awareness and protect users’ digital assets and personal data. Throughout June, Bitget has flipped the script, from fear to empowerment.
It combines gaming education, community storytelling and engagement content under the theme of the smarter eyes, stronger shields, and Bitget’s anti-scum month campaign. Therefore, it can cultivate a culture of vigilance.
The campaign features the launch of a dedicated microsite that houses interactive resources, the PFP Smart Glasses social media movement, the multipart security blog series, and the Bitget Anti-Scam Hub, which houses the “Smart Eyes Challenge” mini-games.
However, it is not a solo mission. Bitget is working with an increasing network of security experts. Therefore, you can amplify your messages and build a safer future for blockchains. Key collaborators for this initiative include top security companies such as Goplus, Slowrimist, OneKey, BlockSec and Security Alliance. These are leaders who identify vulnerabilities, analyze threats on the chain, and build protection infrastructure.
Strategic collaborations with other well-known Web3 players, including Bitget Wallet, Morph, and TapSwap, also support the campaign. These platforms represent the broader ecosystem’s commitment to a more secure Web3. This helps users enhance their knowledge and protect them through design, beyond wallets, apps and social experiences.
But this is not just about tools, it’s about trust. “The scam may be adapting, but so are us,” says Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “We’re building for the future of Web3 that security isn’t what users want. That’s what they’re part of. Anti-Scam Moon is consistent with our belief that protecting users is not just a technical mission, but a shared mission.”
2025 Anti-SCAM Report Release
In addition to user-focused engagement, Bitget has published its 2025 anti-SCAM report with partners, cybersecurity company Slowmist and compliance intelligence platform Elliptic, providing a data-driven investigation into evolving fraud environments, popular attack vectors, and how Bitget’s internal systems are upgraded to effectively deal with these threats.
The anti-Scam month means Bitget’s long-term commitment. Security is the foundation of the future of cryptocurrency. Furthermore, in Web3’s “Dark Forest”, it may be the most powerful armor we have. The industry is growing and it’s time to approach security.
During its first anti-SCAM campaign in 2024, Bitget released a report on how Deepfakes accounts for 70% of crypto crime over two years. They also ran a social campaign in Vietnam to warn about crypto fraud and risks.
This year, Cryptospace attacks new benchmarks for fraud and recruitment. At the same time, Bitget will work with the global community and renowned security agencies to spread awareness and education.
