There is a trading showdown that is about to take place.
One corner features Amazon Prime Day. Amazon will be selling for four days from July 8th to July 11th. Another corner is Walmart Deals. The event will also start on July 8th, but unlike Amazon, it will be offering shoppers two-day deals on July 13th.
Normally, similar items are traded comparable, but there are other areas to watch when it comes to these sales events. As someone who writes about trading, I look them up for you and believe Walmart is better. Here’s why Walmart trading offers better value overall:

Amazon Prime Day requires membership
The main reason they prefer Walmart deals over Amazon Prime Day is that, as the name suggests, Amazon Prime Day requires an Amazon Prime membership.
Membership runs $14.99 per month or $139.99 per year. This is very important if you shop regularly or plan to use some of the other perks, such as Prime Video or Amazon Music Prime.
That said, if you don’t plan on using Amazon Prime much, it doesn’t make sense to pay for your membership just to access a few days’ worth of transactions. Luckily there is an alternative that doesn’t require a subscription: Walmart trading.
One warning: If you’re new to Amazon, you can get a 30-day free trial, with university students free for up to 6 months.
I bought a Walmart deal without membership
Unlike Amazon Prime Day, you don’t need a membership to shop during your Walmart deal. The event will open to all shoppers on Midnight ET on July 8th. That alone saves you $15 compared to your monthly Amazon Prime membership.
That said, there are perks to being a member with Walmart. Walmart will open a sale to Walmart Plus members one day ago, July 7th. If you are new to a subscription, you can try it for free for 30 days.
Alternatively, you can bypass the free trial and score large points on your annual membership. Until July 7th, new members can save up to 50% with their annual Walmart Plus subscription. The agreement reduces total costs from $98 to $49 per year. This is much cheaper than the $139 Amazon fee per year.
If you decide to sign up for one of these memberships for that promotion, Walmart Plus currently offers much better value and previous shopping access than Amazon Prime.

Walmart deal vs Amazon Prime Day final results
As you can see, Walmart has no hoops to jump in and has easy access to trading events. Also, if you need a membership, Walmart offers many of the same perks as Amazon, at a much better price, and previous shopping access.
