The UK High Street Chain Game has apologised after cancelling a hot and expected Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order.
Gamers have been waiting for years for Switch 2 (successor to one of their successors) as the new model was finally released on June 5th, with the new model finally coming out.
However, some people who pre-ordered the game from Switch 2 are no longer able to raise their hands on the release date.
“We understand how disappointed this is, especially for those who are eager to order,” the game wrote in a social media post.
There has been a furious response from those affected, with some customers calling the situation “outrageous.”
The game did not give any reason for the pre-order being cancelled. The BBC approached it for comments.
“We are currently working hard to bring back many affected pre-orders as much as possible,” according to a social media post.
Switch 2 has already drawn controversy from fans who have questioned the prices of several games – a boxed version of Mario Kart World comes in ÂŁ74.99.
However, this price does not seem to have affected initial hardware sales, and most retailers are unable to accept new pre-orders near launch.
Gamers who have no pre-orders have been part of the game release and Pulcel, but in recent years you can consider turning to a return to the Midnight Launch, which has not been so common.
At least one retailer keeps stocks down in hopes of people passing through the door. Smith promises that a “limited” number of consoles will be available in the store when the doors open on launch day.
Fans scrambling to get a new console were part of Nintendo’s history on the Wii in 2006, for example.
The original Switch became the fastest sales console in the United States when it was launched in 2017.
This is not just limited to Nintendo. Its rival, Sony’s PlayStation 5, has proven to be a very hot ticket item that he joined with thousands of other queues to get the chance to buy in 2020.
This trend continued throughout the first three years of console life, partially driving demand, where supply chain issues are resolved only in 2023.
