Futu Securities, a well-known Hong Kong-based securities company, has launched a cryptographic “deposit service” for users of the Futu Niuniu platform.
The launch will allow investors to deposit and trade major digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether, according to a statement on May 7th.
Already known as Hong Kong’s top stock trading app, Futu Niuniu offers access to a variety of financial products, including Hong Kong, the US and Japanese stocks, ETFs, options, cash funds, and bonds. Adding digital assets is a key step in expanding that ecosystem.
The integration allows investors to seamlessly navigate digital and traditional markets, according to the company.
Futu noted that this update will allow users to easily move asset classes according to market conditions. This allows retailers to better manage risk and take advantage of emerging trends, whether the market is rising or falling.
The company also sees the integration as a step towards bridge the gap between the traditional financial system and the rapidly growing crypto economy.
Futu runs a limited time promotion to mark the launch, offering up to $1,600 Bitcoin rewards to new users. The company sees this as part of a broader effort to attract and support digital asset investors seeking a regulated, user-friendly platform.
Futu Managing Director Xie Zhijian highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, highlighting its future plans to roll out withdrawal capabilities and support for additional cryptocurrency.
He said:
“There is a strong demand for deposit and withdrawal functions in the market, but we cannot do this. Futu’s plans are also in its plans, with more mainstream currencies withdrawal functions and helping to withdrawals, according to the deposit function.”
The deployment reflects Hong Kong’s ambitions to lead digital finance. With the city actively shaping regulations on virtual assets, including crypto exchanges and stubcoins, Futu’s latest move is in line with broader efforts to position Hong Kong as a global centre for crypto innovation and responsible growth
